About Steven

Steven Prouse was born and raised in Gilbert, SC where he developed a love for the rebel. Not the cosplay rebellion that terrorized Americans and fought for the rights of the wealthy to own and subjugate others but the rebellion that came from living authentically despite social pressures.  The Harpers Ferry rebels. The Stonewall rebels. The coal mining unionizer, civil rights warrior, moonshiner rebels. He loves characters and stories that refuse to accept tradition or taboo as untouchable third rails.

Steven was a founding member of 803 Studios, an independent comic book publishing studio with a focus on local and regional creators from 2004-2010. With a love for horror, science fiction, and fantasy, he has released a children’s book, multiple comic books and collections, a short story collection, and, with his latest book, Punk Girlz in Space: Been Caught Stealing, three novels. He’s written scripts for screen, television, and podcasts with one story, "Entitlement," serving as an episode of season 4 for the horror podcast The Grey Rooms.
