The Ride: Savannah | B&W Comic | 12-Gauge / Image Comics

Anyone in the early 2000s and 2010s  knew who "The Ride Guys" were. Kevin Gardner and Doug Wagner coupled with powerhouse artists to publish a phenomenal pulp anthology series staring a 1968 Camaro. "The book  was a 'vehicle' for some of the comics industry's leading talent to spread their wings."

Offering to give emerging talent that same vehicle, 12 Gauge Comics and the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) partnered to deliver a special issue of The Ride. Illustrated in 3 chapters plus a bonus short by sequential art students, the book delivered all proceeds to SCAD's Sequential Art Scholarship Fund.

Atlanta police officer Frank Simms travels to Savannah off-the-books as a favor for his chief. It's not long before Frank tumbles into a world of drugs, guns, and fast car action... and not much longer than that before some pretty famous Savannah ghosts make an appearance.
